In Bihar, an IAS officer has volunteered to assist the families of two Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) troops who died in the Pulwama terror incident last week. District Magistrate Inayat Khan of Sheikhpura, 117 kilometres from Patna, has also offered to “adopt” a daughter child from each of the households. One of the troops has two daughters, but the other only has a son. His second child is on the way, thanks to his wife’s pregnancy.
Paying the fee of the two girls
Ms Khan, a Bihar cadre IAS officer, said that she will pay the education of two girls, one each of CRPF troopers Ratan Kumar Thakur and Sanjay KunarSinha’s daughters.
The officer from the 2012 batch, who was born in Agra, also requested that officers open a bank account in Sheikhpura to generate funds for their families. “We will divide and deliver to their families whatever amount is gathered by March 10th. I’d like to encourage everyone to contribute as much as they can so that we can support their family when they are in need “she stated
Ms Khan announced that she will donate two days’ pay to the two soldiers’ families. “All government employees in my district have been asked to donate one day’s wages to the families of the two martyrs,” she stated.
