A masterpiece from history
The temple is located in Kawardha in Kabirdham district of Chhattisgarh and 125 Km from Raipur.
It was built between the 7th and 11th centuries by King Ramchandra of the Nag Dynasty. The temple stands as a testimony to the architectural brilliance of that era, with its detailed sculptures, fine stonework, and carvings that depict gods, goddesses, and intricate patterns.

The pavilion itself, measuring 60 feet in length and 40 feet in width, is spacious and supported by four central pillars along with twelve surrounding ones. These pillars are beautifully sculpted, with keecha (carved brackets) supporting the roof. The entire structure is built on a raised platform, adding to its grandiose presence against the backdrop of the mountain ranges. The architectural style seen here is a blend of artistic beauty and religious significance, with each pillar and carving adding layers of meaning to the temple.
