YouTube Introduces an Experiment That Allows Users to Zoom into Videos: Here’s How You Can Do It

YouTube, which is owned by Google, is testing a new mobile app feature that will allow users to zoom in on any video. Pinch-to-zoom into YouTube videos in both landscape and portrait orientations is an opt-in experimental feature.

The feature, which was discovered by 9to5Google, is only available to YouTube Premium subscribers. According to YouTube, the zoom feature will remain in testing until September 1, giving the platform about a month to collect customer feedback and refine the feature before it is made available to the public.

How to enable pinch-to-zoom option

• To enable pinch-to-zoom, users need to open their YouTube app and tap their profile image on the top right corner of the screen
• Tap Settings
• If you are a YouTube Premium subscriber, you will see an option “Try new features.” Click that.
• Currently, there is only the pinch-to-zoom feature available for testing. Scroll down to find the feature.
• Tap “Try It Out.”

According to reports, there could be a delay between enrolling in the test and being able to use it. It takes some time for YouTube to activate the feature, but once it is, users can pinch-to-zoom in to videos at up to 8X.

This isn’t the first time we’ve been able to zoom in on YouTube videos. Various accessibility features on Android and iOS enabled users to zoom in on the content on their screen, and zooming in on the web is even easier with your PCs and laptops. However, having a native feature makes everything much easier and more convenient. It is unknown whether the Pinch-to-zoom feature will be available to non-Premium
YouTube users.
