Say ‘Hello UPI’ and do the payment, check out how the new feature of UPI works


India’s Unified Payment Interface (UPI) is making waves not only in the country but also globally. The way its popularity is increasing, the work is continuously going on to make it more user friendly. Now National Payment Corporation of India (NPCI) has added a new great feature in it. The facility of UPI Voice Mode Payment! Yes, now there is no need to use fingers on mobile, you can make instant payment just by speaking.

This new service of speaking payment in UPI has made the process of doing payments even easier. This new service of NPCI ‘Hello UPI’ has been launched by Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Shaktikanta Das at the Global Fintech Fest. In this, UPI payments can be made through voice mode in Hindi and English through apps, phone calls and Internet of Things (IOT) devices. Apart from this, other developments have also been introduced in UPI by NPCI on September 6.

How it will work?

The purpose of NPCI to add this new feature in UPI is to increase the access of users to digital payments. At present, a limit of Rs 100 has been kept for making payments in voice mode through the Hello UPI feature. According to NPCI, customers has to take permission from the bank using the credit line before doing payment.

Call any of the banks given in the list from the same number in which your mobile number is registered and say the name of your bank, after that you have to tell the name of the person to whom payment has to be made and then select the transaction type. You will be able to make payments easily with the help of UPI Pin.

Language options available

At present, this facility has been launched in English and Hindi by the National Payment Corporation of India. But soon other regional languages ​​will also be added to it. NPCI said that Artificial Intelligence (AI) enabled transactions can be completed for these Conversational Payments, which will enable the expansion of digital payments in the country more quickly and reach more places.

Other facilities introduced by NPCI

On this occasion, NPCI has also introduced many other facilities. These also include ‘Credit Line’ service on UPI. Through this facility, users will get the facility to take pre-approved bank loan from banks. Through this, customers will also be able to do transactions on the UPI platform through already approved loans. Apart from this, NPCI has also launched another product named ‘Lite X’, which can also be used in offline transactions.  ‘Bharat BillPay Connect,’ a plan to make paying bills easy by talking. People can pay their bills by simply talking to popular voice assistants like Alexa or using regular phones, smartphones, or special merchant sound devices. This plan is designed to help people of all technology skill levels pay their bills online, making it simple for everyone.
