Introduction

The Cupertino, California- based tech giant Apple opened the doors to its second retail store in Delhi naming it Apple Saket after 25 years of shared history with the country.
Unveiled by the Chief Executive Officer, Tim Cook himself, at 10 am, the store is located on the second floor of the Select Citywalk Mall. The day of the launch also coincides with the day of Apple’s 25 years of history with India. Cook on his way to the launch of the store, also met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and committed to the company, and service to India, especially in creating and offering more jobs.

History

The multinational company was inaugurated on April 1 in the year 1976 by founders Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak, and Ronald Wayne to market Wozniak’s Apple I computers and later merged the company on January 3, 1977. The company with time rose to become the world’s largest technological company with a net worth of 394.3 billion US$ in 2022.

India being the CEO’s favourite

Tim Cook seemed to have really enjoyed his time inaugurating the store as he was seen warmly greeting some of the fans and eager customers who were really excited about the store launch. He also interacted with some of them and took pictures with them.

Even prior to the launch, India has been a priority and a company favourite as when Apple shipments fell globally, they rose in India. Cook when speaking about India once said, “India bounced back during the quarter, we returned to growth there. We are very happy with that.”

The company has big plans for India, including a more robust environment for app developers, a focus on sustainability, community initiatives across numerous cities, and localized manufacturing.
