International Cricket Stadium coming up in Varanasi with astonishing specialities & facilities

Varanasi, located on the banks of the Ganges in northern India, plays an important role in Hindu rituals. It is one of India’s most popular tourist destinations because of the seamless combination of its spirituality, culture, and history.

Many visitors to Varanasi come for the Ghats and temples, but the city also has a thriving adventure tourism and sports industry.

Adding one more star to the development of Varanasi, it is now going to have an International Cricket Stadium.

The stadium will benefit not just visitors but also the people living in the city.

A Look at Varanasi International Stadium

Prime Minister Narendra Modi wants to transform Varanasi into a major sports centre with all necessary facilities. With the building of an international-level cricket stadium in Varanasi, sports fans in both Purvanchal and nearby places will be very happy.

If there is a cricket series in the country, games will undoubtedly be played at the BCCI field. As a result, the majority of the matches will be held in Varanasi.

This will provide opportunities for people in Purvanchal to participate in sports and get jobs.

The On-going Preparation

The state government has bought 31 acres of land in Rajatalab, Varanasi, for the construction of an international cricket stadium.

The property was given to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA).

The Ring Road surrounds this region, and large highways connect to the (proposed) stadium.

Around the stadium, there will be a chain of restaurants and a lot of job opportunities, etc.

Varanasi has one five-star hotel, there will soon be new hotels, and some hotels are getting bigger.

The government is also constructing some of the greatest roadways in the state so that people can easily travel to the international stadium that will be built in Ganjari.

An 8-kilometer-long flyover would be built to access to the Varanasi International Cricket Stadium, according to the report.

Facilities of the Stadium

    •    Everything for the players will be taken care of at this stadium, from training to their stay. Right now, the field is getting ready for day-and-night games.

    •    This Varanasi international stadium would include four locker rooms and three practice fields.

    •    Aside from this, this venue will also have cutting-edge systems set up to drain water when it rains.

    •    The venue will provide facilities for a variety of sports, including badminton, table tennis, swimming, and self-defense.

    •    A 2,000-square-foot Broadcast Room (BCR) will be built to broadcast live telecasts of the stadium’s matches.

    •    There will be a canteen, restrooms, and a bus station facility on 500 square feet.

    •    VIP Lounge, Corporate Box, Open Car Parking, Car Charging Station, Water Tank, Golf Carts, Road, Solar Panels, Swimming Pool, and Food Facilities will also be provided.

Specialty about the Stadium

It is India’s first stadium in Kashi that will be totally dedicated to Lord Shiva, with a religious theme (Lord Shiva theme) and including Trishul, Damru, and Belpatra, Lord Shiva’s favorites.

The crescent form stadium roofs crown Lord Shiva, floodlights in the shape of tridents, entry point with metallic frames in the shape of bilva patra (sacred leaves to Lord Shiva), and front part of the stadium in the shape of the ‘damru’ will give it a spiritual ambiance.

The Honourable Prime Minister of India will perform the Shilanyas of this 450 crore rupee international cricket stadium in Varanasi on September 23.

This stadium in Ganjari, which combines contemporary sports facilities with the charm of Kashi, is yet another diamond in Varanasi’s crown.

It represents people’s dedication and veneration for Lord Shiva by bringing spirituality and athletics together in one spot.
