Shweta Agarwal, an IAS officer, is one of those whose success story will inspire others to do their best. On the strength of her hard work, the daughter of a grocery seller passed the UPSC Civil Services exam and became an IAS officer. Shweta Agarwal secured 19th rank in UPSC Civil Services Examination in 2015.
Early education and family
Shweta Agarwal completed her schooling from St. Joseph’s Convent Bandel School. After this, she obtained a graduation degree in Economics from St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata. Her father is a grocery shop shopkeeper.
Cracked UPSC exam twice
Shweta Agarwal passed the UPSC Civil Services exam twice. But she had to become an IAS officer. Her ambition to become an IAS officer was eventually realised, and she was assigned to the Bengal cadre. She achieved 497th rank on her first attempt and was hired by the IRS. Shweta was chosen again in 2015, this time at rank 141. But, once again, she did not get the IAS position. Finally, in 2016, her dream was realised when she was appointed as an IAS officer with the All India 19th rank.
Family wanted a boy
There was no excitement in the family at the time of Shweta’s birth, according to reports. The family preferred a son over a girl child. Despite the fact that Shweta’s parents had decided to teach their daughter a lot. Shweta made her parents very proud by achieving her goal.
