A Pledge Fulfilled:
The village of Pipalkhet, located approximately 150 kilometers from Udaipur, had been deprived of a steady teacher for the past 21 years. When Samarth Dagar was appointed as the village’s teacher in June 2022, he faced the daunting task of commuting across a river and walking 6 kilometers to reach the school. However, the villagers made a promise to him on Independence Day that they would construct a road, ensuring his safe journey.
With determination and unity, around 35 villagers worked tirelessly for nearly 50 days to construct a 6-kilometer road that connected Pipalkhet to the nearest town. Their hard work paid off as they welcomed Samarth Dagar to school on August 15, as per their commitment.
Empowering Education:
While education wasn’t initially a priority for the villagers, Samarth Dagar’s passion and dedication to teaching motivated over 70 children to enroll in the school. Notably, he even facilitated the first enrollment of nine students into the sixth grade, marking a pivotal step towards promoting education in the village.
The villagers’ collective effort not only provided a road but also changed their outlook towards education. Samarth Dagar’s efforts over the past year resulted in increased student enrollment and awareness about the significance of education.
