The Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25, India’s premier domestic 50-over cricket tournament, is all set to begin on Saturday, December 21, 2024. The tournament will feature 38 teams from across the country, competing in a round-robin format, and will run until January 18, 2025. The first knockout round will take place in Vadodara.
Tournament Format
The group stage of the tournament will be held across five cities, each assigned a specific group. Haryana enters the tournament as the defending champions. However, Saurashtra holds the record as the most successful team in the competition’s history, with four titles.
Teams and Groups
The participating teams are divided into five groups as follows:
- Group A: Assam, Gujarat, Haryana, Jharkhand, Goa, Manipur, Odisha, Uttarakhand
- Group B: Andhra, Himachal Pradesh, Maharashtra, Meghalaya, Railways, Rajasthan, Services, Sikkim
- Group C: Arunachal Pradesh, Hyderabad, Karnataka, Mumbai, Nagaland, Punjab, Puducherry, Saurashtra
- Group D: Chandigarh, Chhattisgarh, Jammu and Kashmir, Mizoram, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, Vidarbha
- Group E: Baroda, Bengal, Bihar, Delhi, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, Tripura
Venues for Group Stage Matches
The group stage matches will be played in the following cities:
- Group A: Jaipur
- Group B: Mumbai
- Group C: Ahmedabad
- Group D: Visakhapatnam and Vizianagaram
- Group E: Hyderabad
The Round of 16 knockout matches will be played in Vadodara.
Match Timings and Broadcast Details
All the group stage matches will begin at 09:00 IST. Fans can watch the matches live on the Sports 18 network. Selected group stage matches, along with all knockout matches, will be available for live streaming on the JioCinema app and website.
