National Memorial day is an emotional road for many. This day is observed on every last Monday of May and accordingly this year in 2022 it will be observed on 30 May.

This day is observed to remember the veterans who have been injured or killed in a war while serving the country. Memorial Day is one of the two days of every year used to honor our veterans. Although, the earliest history of Memorial day is somewhat unknown.
History behind the day celebrated
Memorial day began in 1869, on May 5 and it was first called Decoration Day, but later in 1967 it was changed to Memorial Day. Nevertheless, this day is hard to date back but, it still has caused a big impact in our history.
Prospective of South and North
The South refused to recognise this day, believing that veterans should be honoured on separate days. After the war, their perspectives shifted. The North, on the other hand, was quick to accept Memorial Day.
A parade is held in many cities today, with marching soldiers filling the streets alongside firefighters, cops, and other service workers. Thousands of Americans throng the streets, waving American flags, singing songs, and handing out flowers.
Finally, Memorial Day should be a day for everyone. Many war veterans want Memorial Day to be a day of honour and gratitude for everything they’ve done.
