Mahashivratri’s Importance
Mahashivratri is a significant event for both spiritual seekers and everyday people. Mahashivratri is commemorated by the householders as Shiva’s wedding anniversary, while it is commemorated by ascetics as the day when Shiva was united with Kailash, when he became as still and utterly serene as a mountain.
Shivaratri is celebrated on the fourteenth day of each lunar month in the Krishna Paksha, or the day before the new moon.
