CHHATTISGARH’S KABIRDHAM DISTRICT BAGS NATIONAL PANCHAYAT AWARD

 has once again bagged yet another award for Panchayat empowerment. Kabirdham District Panchayat in the state and its Kejedah Gram Panchayat in Sahaspur Lohara Janpad Panchayat have been selected for the Pt Deendayal Upadhyay Panchayat Sashaktikaran Award. The awards will be conferred by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi at a function to be held in New Delhi on April 24.
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel had greeted the people of Kabirdham district for the award.

In the meantime, Kabirdham Collector Ramesh Sharma said the award was the result of hard work of Panchayat officials and employees. He said that it is a matter of pride for people of Kabirdham as well as the state.Employment were provided to 28836 ruralites under Mahatma Gandhi National Rojgar Guarantee Act (MNREGA), associating the women to livelihood schemes and developing amenities through which they earned lakhs of rupees as a income and infrastructure at the Panchayat level helped the Kabirdham to clinch the national award.

The achievements

During the global pandemic Corona period, 28836 families were provided 100 days of employment under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme in the district.
More than 96 lakh man-days of employment were given to the villagers under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, which is more than 100 percent of the annual labor budget target.

For the promotion of women’s livelihood, the work of community farming is being done in the Gram Panchayat Rajnawagaon and Bamhani. In Rajnawagaon, the women’s group has earned an income of more than Rs 1.80 lakh by producing vegetables. At the same time, an income of Rs 1.40 lakh has been earned by the women’s group of Bamhani Janpad Panchayat Kawardha.
There are 158 bank sakhi working in the district, on whose behalf the amount of government schemes is being paid by visiting the homes of the beneficiaries. So far more than Rs 34 crore has been paid.
A center for selling Chhattisgarhi cuisine named Bhor Kaleva is being run by the women’s group in 7 different places of the district. 75 women are attached to these centers, who are earning an income of 7 thousand to 8 thousand rupees per month

In the financial year 2020-21, 220 Gauthans were constructed out of 468 gram panchayats of the district, in which 1100 nos. of vermi compost tank and 1100 nos. of Nadeb compost tank were constructed. Of these, compost manure is being prepared at the interval of every 4 months. In this way, about 39 thousand 600 tonnes of vermicompost manure is being manufactured every year by both the tanks (vermi/nadeb). It needs to be mentioned that the Chhattisgarh has won numerous awards at the Centre in the last three years.
