Indian cuisine is among the best in the world, ranking fifth in the world



When it comes to global food preferences, Indian cuisine reigns supreme. It’s no longer about spices, as people can see our cuisine in new ways thanks to the abundance of flavours and varieties. Taste Atlas, a Bulgarian travel guide, recently announced its list of the “Best Cuisines in the World” for 2022, with India ranking fifth. Since the food website tweeted the list, it has gone viral, with approximately 44.9 million views, 45k comments, and 19k likes. This list was topped by Italian cuisine, which was followed by Greek, Spanish, and Japanese cuisine in third and fourth place, respectively. The ranking was determined by audience votes for ingredients, dishes, and beverages.

According to the results, India received 4.54 points out of a possible 5 stars, and the best-rated foods in India included Garam Masala, Ghee, Malai, Butter Garlic Naan, and Keema, among more than 400 other items. The travel guide named Shree Thaker Bhojanalay (Mumbai), Karavalli (Bangalore), Bukhara (New Delhi), Dum Pukht (New Delhi), and Comorin among the best restaurants of 2022. (Gurugram). Traditional dishes, on the other hand, did not fare well.

Among the listed foods are Chai Masala (also known as Masala Chai), Sweet Lassi, South Indian Coffee, Thandai, Haldi Doodh, Shahi Paneer, Malai Kofta, Paneer Tikka, Butter Chicken, Rasgulla, Masala Dosa, Chole Bhature, and Kaju Katli.

Chinese cuisine, which is widely popular around the world, was ranked 11th on the list, which perplexed social media users. Netizens also criticised the United States for being ranked eighth, ahead of France. People were also perplexed by Thailand’s position of 30th.
