India Thrashes Pakistan by 7 Wickets in Asia Cup

The Indian women’s team has kicked off their Women’s Asia Cup campaign with a spectacular victory. In their opening match, they triumphed over the Pakistan women’s team by 7 wickets. This contest, held in Dambulla, was dominated by India from start to finish. Indian bowlers effectively limited Pakistan to a total of 108 runs, and the Indian batsmen chased down the target with 35 balls remaining. This victory marks India’s 12th win over Pakistan in the Women’s Asia Cup.

India’s Bowlers Dismantle Pakistan in Asia Cup

On 19th July, the Indian women’s team faced off against the Pakistan women’s team in the Women’s Asia Cup in Sri Lanka. Pakistani captain Nida Dar won the toss and chose to bat first, a decision that did not work in their favor. Indian bowlers dominated the game, preventing Pakistan from completing their 20 overs and bowling them out for 108 runs in 19.2 overs.

Pakistan Struggles Against India’s Bowling Attack

Sidra Amin was the top scorer for Pakistan with 25 runs. Tooba Hasan and Fatima Hasan each contributed 22 runs. Other Pakistani batters struggled, with Muniba Ali scoring 11, Nida Dar 8, Aliya Riaz 6, and Gul Firozha 5 runs. Deepti Sharma was the star bowler for India, taking 3 wickets. Renuka Singh, Pooja Vastrakar, and Shreyanka Patil also made significant contributions, each taking 2 wickets.

India’s Openers Dominate with Explosive Start

Following the excellent performance by the bowlers, it was the turn of the Indian batters. Openers Smriti Mandhana and Shefali Verma gave a blistering start, adding 85 runs in just 9.3 overs. Despite their explosive start, both openers were unfortunate to miss their fifties.

India Secures Victory with Strong Batting Performance

Smriti Mandhana scored 45 runs off 31 balls before getting out, while Shefali Verma made 40 runs off 29 balls. Shit Hemlata added 14 runs off 11 balls. Following their dismissals, captain Harmanpreet Kaur (5) and Jemimah Rodriguez (3) guided India to victory. India secured the win by losing just 3 wickets in 14.1 overs, showcasing a comprehensive performance with both bat and ball.
