India’s largest single wall painting on sustainable waste management unveiled by KONE India in New Delhi

As part of their Green Dream Project, KONE Elevators India, a wholly owned subsidiary of KONE Corporation, a world leader in the elevator and escalator business, debuted their largest single wall painting this week at Mahipalpur Flyover in New Delhi with the topic of Sustainable Waste Management.

The Green Dream Project was started by KONE India and the Green Dream Foundation last year with the aim of educating the public on important environmental issues. The continuous effort revitalises otherwise unappreciated walls, effectively conveys a strong message, and provides respectable employment chances for gifted artists from all across the nation.

Project’s goal

The project’s goal is to increase awareness and encourage greater self-awareness. Additionally, it contributes to the Swachh Bharat Mission by beautifying some neglected walls. The Mahipalpur Flyover in Delhi has recently undergone a more than 20,000 square foot refurbishment.

The wall was dedicated by Ashish Sachdeva, the founder and president of the Green Dream Foundation, Ashwani Kumar, IAS, Special Officer, MCD, Gyanesh Bharti, IAS, Commissioner, MCD, and Amit Gossain, Managing Director of KONE Elevators India. They also honoured certain artists who have been involved with the Green Dream Project from the beginning and are responsible for the stunning transformations of numerous city walls.

Amit Gossain, Managing Director, KONE Elevators India said at the inauguration, “At KONE India, we constantly aim to contribute to better tomorrow in the communities that we are privileged to serve. Project Green Dream is an important pillar of our community initiatives that centers around the circular economy, waste and water management, etc. The project has been drawing a lot of attention and appreciation in the Delhi-NCR Region, Ranchi and Chandigarh already, and our plan is to spread it nationally. In line with the government’s Swatch Bharat Mission, inaugurating it during India’s Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is a great honour for us.”

Ashish Sachdeva, Founder and President, Green Dream Foundation, said at the occasion, “Aligning not only to the vision of Net Zero but also to the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, these wall paintings depict how Delhi has embarked upon its journey to Zero Waste to achieve freedom from hazardous landfills. Recognition of the artists by the senior officials will go a long way in motivating them to keep delivering better with every upcoming project.”
