In the presence of Central Tibetan Administration president Penpa Tsering, a US delegation led by a special coordinator for Tibetan issues Uzra Zeya met the Dalai Lama at his official residence at McLeod Ganj in Dharamshala on Thursday morning 19th May.
The President of the Tibetan government-in-exile Pempa Tsering, Deir Kalon Norzin Dolma, Representative Namgyal Choedup, and members of the US Special Coordinator’s delegation was also present on the occasion.

President expresses gratitude for Dalai Lama’s peace messages

Secretary Zeya congratulated the Dalai Lama on behalf of US President Joe Biden and the American people and expressed his gratitude for the Dalai Lama’s messages of peace. During this, he also shared a message of his President Joe Biden to the Dalai Lama.
In which he has prayed for your good health while wishing for your long life. In addition, the Dalai Lama and the US Special Coordinator for Tibetan Issues also discussed the rich traditions of freedom and democracy in the United States and India.

Dalai Lama appreciates India’s democratic values with America

The Dalai Lama also discussed Tibet’s culture, environmental protection, and the revival of ancient Indian knowledge with Ujra Jeya. The Dalai Lama said that China, despite its best efforts, has failed to win over the Tibetan people and change their views. He said that the thinking of the Chinese people themselves is changing rapidly. During this, he described America as the country that successfully runs the largest democratic system in the world.
Also said that freedom has been provided to the citizens in every respect, he also praised the democratic system of India and said that despite having people of every caste, community, and different religions, everything is under the banner of the democratic system.
