The Ministry of Consumer Affairs is considering a new plan to allow consumers to buy exactly the amount of medicine they need. Under the plan, medicine strips would be perforated with holes, allowing consumers to break off the exact number of tablets they need. The date of manufacture and expiry would be printed on each tablet, and QR codes would be used to provide additional information about the medicine.

The plan is in response to complaints from consumers who have been forced to buy entire strips of medicine, even when they only need a few tablets. This can lead to medical waste and unnecessary financial burdens for consumers.

The Ministry is currently in talks with the pharmaceutical industry to develop the new packaging. It is hoped that the new packaging will be available in the coming months.

Benefits of New Packaging:

The new packaging would have a number of benefits for consumers, including:

• Reduced medical waste

• Reduced financial burden

• Increased convenience

• Improved transparency

Conclusion:

The Ministry of Consumer Affairs is committed to protecting consumer interests. The new medicine packaging is one way that the government is working to make sure that consumers have access to the medicines they need at a price they can afford.
