With tourism The Delhi Government on 13 may launch the ‘Delhi Film Policy’. On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said that the Delhi Film Policy 2022 will attract tourism in the state as well as generate employment and economic development on a large scale in Delhi.

He said that with the help of the policy, Delhi will also establish itself as a brand with more coverage on the silver screen and will instill a sense of pride in the citizens of Delhi towards the culture, art of Delhi.
Deputy CM Manish Sisodia said that the government will also give subsidy to producers for film production in Delhi and will also encourage local people to be hired in the film industry.

Manish Sisodia said that the Delhi Film Policy is a progressive policy of the Government of Delhi to promote film promotion and globalization at a global level to help create jobs, boost various sectors of the economy and instill a sense of pride among the people of Delhi. The tourism policy has been prepared after studying it.

Purpose of Delhi Film Policy

The objective of Delhi Film Policy 2022 is to make Delhi recognized at national and international level through films. The objectives of Delhi Film Policy 2022 are as follows. To promote artistic, creative and cultural expression. To make Delhi a film shooting destination by simplifying the approval processes for film shooting.

To create a mass and enthusiastic audience for films shot in Delhi, both domestically and globally. To develop and support local talent and provide efficient eco-system in Delhi.

Shooting will be approved through online single window clearance system

A single window online clearance system will be developed to attract film producers. Where the producers will get all the approvals related to film shooting within 15 days through online medium. If a producer wants approval before 15 days, then he will have to pay a premium.

Earlier, producers had to get approval from about 25 different agencies, which took a lot of time. Producers will be able to get approval for film shooting in Delhi by visiting www.delhitourism.gov.in website.

The Delhi government has tried to understand film branding and promotion by studying several international shooting locations. Under which the producers will be subsidized by the government in the expenses incurred in film making on making a film in Delhi. It will be decided on the basis of point system.

Points will be awarded to the film keeping in mind the film location, branding of the location in Delhi, involvement of local artists in the film crew and support staff, expenses during pre-production, production and post-production of the film in Delhi and based on that Subsidy will be given. The Delhi government has allocated Rs 30 crore for the Delhi Film Fund, which will help brand Delhi as a national and international tourist destination from the point of view of film promotion.

There will be discount in hospitality services related to tourism department

Filmmakers and production agencies will be given a ‘Delhi Film Card’, which will be worth one lakh rupees, to give special deals and packages. Under the policy, tourism and hospitality companies will be empaneled with the tourism department. Delhi Film Card holders will get discounts on facilities like travel, logistics, hotels within Delhi.

The Delhi Film Policy, in Delhi, will help strengthen the film industry eco-system, create employment opportunities for the skilled workforce engaged in film production and allied sectors. Through this policy, 
Delhi will get recognition at the national and international level and the attraction of tourists to Delhi will increase, as a result of which tourism will also get a boost in Delhi.

Due to which the hotel, restaurant, hospitality industry of Delhi will also get benefit. New employment opportunities will be created and the economy will be better.
