CBSE Board Exam: CBSE has officially released the date sheet for Class 10 and Class 12 board exams 2025. The exams for both classes are set to begin on February 15, 2025. This year, over 44 lakh students from India and 26 countries are expected to appear for the exams. Students can access the official date sheet on CBSE’s websites, cbse.gov.in and cbse.nic.in.
Practical Exams Begin in November 2024
Practical exams for schools located in winter-bound areas will be conducted between November 5 and December 5, 2024. For schools in other regions, practical exams will commence from January 1, 2025.
Date Sheet Released 86 Days in Advance
On the evening of November 20, 2024, CBSE issued a notification announcing the board exam dates. According to the schedule, the Class 10 board exams will conclude on March 18, 2025. while the Class 12 exams will end on April 4, 2025. This marks the first time CBSE has released the date sheet 86 days in advance, allowing students ample time to plan and prepare.
Morning Shift for All Exams
As per the official time table, both Class 10 and 12 exams will be held in the morning shift. Most papers will take place from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM, while a few exams will have an extended duration of 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM.
The Class 10 exams will begin with the English paper on February 15, while the Class 12 exams will start with the Entrepreneurship paper on the same day.
Mandatory CCTV Surveillance
The board has mandated that all affiliated schools must install CCTV cameras in examination halls. Consequently, a notification issued on September 27, 2024, instructed school principals and heads of institutions to ensure that exams are conducted exclusively in rooms equipped with fully functional CCTV cameras.
Sufficient Gap between Exams
According to CBSE Examination Controller Sanyam Bhardwaj, “Adequate gaps have been provided between two subjects. Furthermore, the date sheet has been meticulously planned, considering over 40,000 subject combinations to ensure that no two subjects selected by a student overlap on the same date.”
This early release of the 2025 board exam schedule provides students with a well-structured timeline to prepare effectively and ensures the smooth execution of the exams across all centers. Students are advised to utilize this time wisely and check the official websites for updates.
