A family from Rajkot gifted “AI Nazar” to 40 disabled sisters, see how it will help them

In the heart of Gujarat’s Rajkot, Jayaben Rameshbhai Shah celebrated this year’s Paryushan Parv in a unique way. She gifted 40 visually impaired sisters from the city’s VD Parekh Institute with “AI Nazar” smart glasses. These special glasses are equipped with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and promise to make reading, recognizing currency notes, and navigating their surroundings much easier.

The Gift of Sight:

Developed by software developer and entrepreneur Ravi Jadav, the AI Nazar glasses come with a built-in camera that connects to a mobile device.
These glasses are designed to assist visually impaired individuals in various ways, such as reading, identifying cash denominations, recognizing voices, and object detection.
The device currently supports Gujarati, English, and Hindi commands.

Recognizing Currency:

For those with visual impairments, identifying currency notes can be challenging. However, the AI Nazar glasses can solve this problem.
When a visually impaired person points the camera towards currency notes, the device verbally announces the denomination, ensuring they can easily distinguish between different notes.

Reading Assistance:

The glasses are equipped to read printed and handwritten text aloud.
When a visually impaired person places a book or document in front of the camera, the device reads the text aloud, allowing them to access written information without assistance.

Navigation Aid:

One of the most impressive features of these glasses is their ability to assist with navigation.

The device can provide information about the distance and direction of objects in the user’s surroundings. This feature empowers visually impaired individuals to move around confidently without bumping into obstacles.
Jayaben Shah’s thoughtful gift is a heartwarming example of technology being used for the betterment of society. These glasses not only enhance their quality of life but also promote independence and inclusivity. With innovations like these, we move closer to creating a world where everyone, regardless of their abilities, can thrive and participate fully in society.
