Pollution is the biggest hurdle in the development of a nation. In the same regard, Delhi is ill-famed for the growing pollution in the city. Amidst the ongoing pollution, the Delhi government launches various initiatives to combat pollution. One such initiative is the Paryavaran Saathi Chatbot. This initiative is expected to contribute to the reduction of pollution in Delhi. The initiative is intended to increase awareness about the increased participation of youth in anti-pollution campaigns.
During the launch of the ‘Paryavaran Saathi’ chatbot, Delhi Environment Minister Gopal Rai stated that “people can share their initiatives on WhatsApp number 9650414141. The top-100 performers would be honored”, he added.
The Delhi government and UNICEF’s YuWaah collaborated on this initiative. It attracted over 10 lakh youth. Out of the 10,00,000 young people, 50,000 are from Delhi itself. Platform to access information regarding pollution
In addition to the chatbot, a website www.delhifightspollution.in was also launched. The goal of this website is to provide people with centralized access to information about campaigns against all types of pollution in Delhi.
Objective of Paryavaran Sathi
The chatbot aims to empower young people, particularly those who regularly use WhatsApp and other social media platforms. This will lead them to play a crucial role in the fight against pollution.
