World Heart Day 2022: Use heart for every heart



Every year on September 29th, people all over the world observe World Heart Day to raise awareness about the causes of cardiovascular diseases, their management, and how to use the heart for humanity, nature, and you.

World Heart Day 2022: History

This international event was created in collaboration with the World Heart Federation and the World Health Organization. This concept was proposed by Antoni Bayés de Luna, president of the World Heart Federation from 1997 to 1999. World Heart Day was first observed on September 24, 2000, and was observed on the last Sunday in September until 2011. It was later decided that September 29th would be the exact date when international World Heart Day would be observed, with more than 90 countries participating in this global event.

The ultimate goal of World Heart Day is to draw the world’s attention to the behaviours that can prevent people from developing cardiovascular diseases and to educate people on how to manage the potential risks associated with such an important organ of the body. This day was established by the World Heart Federation to raise awareness about the various cardiovascular issues and illnesses that currently affect the global population.
