JAPANESE RESEARCHERS HAVE DEVELOPED A MASK TO DETECT CORONA VIRUS.

Corona virus Mask Highlights :

Kyoto Prefectural University scientists have devised a novel technique to investigate corona infection.
They’ve created a mask that uses the flashlight on the phone to determine whether or not the person wearing it is infected with Covid-19. It can also be detected using ultraviolet light, in addition to mobile. The filter on this mask is composed of ostrich cells, which makes it unique.

A filter has been placed in the layers of the mask, according to the researchers. It is sprayed with neon paint. Antibodies that bind to the virus are present. The filter illuminates in UV light if virus particles are present on the mask. This mask also lights in the smartphone’s LED light. This allows users to take their Covid exam while sitting at home.

The importance of the ostrich in the production of masks

According to the university paper, the corona virus was first injected into female ostriches. After that, antibodies from their eggs were removed and a fluorescent spray was developed. Scientists believe that ostrich antibodies are effective against a wide range of viruses and bacteria.

32 patients were included in the study

The mask was tested in just 10 days, according to the study’s lead scientist, Yasuhiro Tsukamoto. The masks of the 32 corona patients who took part in the study gleamed brightly in UV light. During the study, the researchers discovered that as the patients healed, the mask’s brightness dropped.
Sukamoto claims that the next trial will involve 150 participants. If the trial is successful, the government will be asked for authorization. This mask might hit the market in 2022 if it receives FDA certification.
