It is an honor for me to be a part of the 12th Indian Organ Donation Day, which honors the noble cause of organ donation”.

AngdaanMahadaan

Every year since 2010, Indian Organ Donation Day has been observed to honor the contributions of dead donors and their families to society. “Society is gradually changing, and with the sanctity and preciousness of every life becoming visible to all, persons who have committed ‘Angdaan’ will soon be viewed with the same respect shown to those who give their hard-earned wealth to charity.”, Union Health Minister, MansukhMadaviya. He further said that the rate of organ donation has nearly quadrupled since 2012-13.

Not only pledge, but also spread the word

The Health Minister urged people to not only pledge to donate their organs but also to raise awareness about the shortage of organs available for transplant in the country and to encourage others to do so. “Everyone in society, including doctors, aware citizens, governments, and the media, must play an active part in addressing organ donation hesitation and increasing organ donation across the country,” he stated.
