

According to a government release, as part of the ongoing ‘Swastha Mann, Swastha Ghar’ campaign launched last year to raise awareness about healthy living, the central government will hold Health Melas on the fourteenth of every month in 1.56 lakh Ayushman Bharat Health and Wellness Centre (AB-HWC) across the country.
Yoga, Zumba, Teleconsultation, and Nikshay Poshan Abhiyan, as well as Non-Communicable Diseases screening and Drug Distribution, will be offered at health centres.
According to the health ministry, screening for Sickle Cell Disease will also be conducted as part of these nationwide health melas.
Previously, in her budget speech on February 1, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman stated that the central government’s goal is to eliminate sickle cell anemia by 2047, and a mission to that end will be launched soon.
A cyclathon with the theme ‘Cycle for Health’ will be held at Lady Hardinge Medical College in Delhi. A dedicated cycle stand will be installed on the hospital grounds.
Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya urged all citizens to participate in the mega cycling event at their nearest AB-HWC, addressing all health and cycling enthusiasts.
