The health-tech industry, driven by technological advancements, has transformed healthcare systems worldwide. Among the pioneers in India’s health tech market is Bengaluru-based Even Healthcare. Founded in 2020 by Mayank Banerjee, Matilde Giglio, and Alessandro Davide Ialongo, Even Healthcare aims to provide easy and accessible primary care services, revolutionizing the way people visit doctors.
Inspiring Story of Even Healthcare’s Founding and Mission
Mayank Banerjee, co-founder of Even Healthcare, shares his journey and the motivation behind the startup. The seed of the idea was planted when Mayank witnessed the financial burden faced by his family due to his uncle’s illness. This experience led Mayank and Matilde Giglio to envision an integrated managed care system where hospital bills would no longer be a source of worry. Alessandro Davide Ialongo later joined the team. Recognizing the challenges in accessing quality healthcare in India, they saw an opportunity to create a blueprint for a better healthcare plan that would restore trust in healthcare providers.
Revolutionizing Primary Care and Affordable Healthcare Access
Even Healthcare recognized the neglect of primary care in existing healthcare plans and the lack of trust in doctors and hospitals. To address these issues, Even Healthcare designed a healthcare model centered around free primary and preventive care, aiming to keep its members healthy and out of hospitals. With a team of over 120 professionals, Even Healthcare offers personalized care teams comprising doctors, specialists, and care managers available 24×7. In case of hospitalization, members receive cashless group insurance coverage up to ₹1 crore through insurance partners.
Growth, and Future Plans of Even Healthcare
Even Healthcare advocates for the importance of having a trusted doctor overseeing individuals’ healthcare journeys, catching health risks early, and promoting good habits. Even Healthcare has secured significant funding, including $15 million from Alpha Wave and LightRock India in 2022, and a previous $5 million in seed funding led by Khosla Ventures.
Looking ahead, Even Healthcare aims to enhance its healthcare model by strengthening clinical protocols and onboarding highly experienced doctors. They plan to focus on rising ailments like diabetes, PCOS, obesity, and hypertension, emphasizing preventive care. Even Healthcare aspires to provide healthcare at the lowest cost without compromising quality and to build a trustworthy healthcare delivery model with successful health outcomes.
