Monkey pox: Indigenous RT PCR kit is ready! results in 40 minutes

According to Siemens Healthcare Private Limited, the findings of this domestic kit will be accessible in around forty minutes. The National Institute of Virology in Pune has also claimed that this test kit has 100% sensitivity. This kit, developed in India, meets all global standards. The testing kit has been manufactured by Siemens Healthineers, an Indian company.

Strain Detection quality

This RT-PCR testing kit will examine two different regions of the viral genome. Additionally, the test will reveal which viral strain has attacked. With the development of this kit in India, the cost of testing will also decrease. The kit will help in quickly detecting the virus, enabling timely treatment for patients.

Production will be in Vadodara unit

The monkey pox testing kit will be manufactured at the Vadodara unit. Siemens Healthineers has announced that around 1 million testing kit packs will be produced annually. Identifying the disease is the first step toward prevention. With this domestically produced kit, monkey pox can be detected in a timely manner.
