Chhattisgarh Moves Towards Free Electricity: CM Vishnu Deo Sai Lays Foundation for Unified Power HQ in Nava Raipur

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai laid the foundation stone for the Unified Headquarters of Chhattisgarh State Power Companies. It is a significant step towards energy sector reform and enhanced public service delivery. in Sector-24, Nava Raipur. This also marks the state’s silver jubilee year. It is a major milestone in Chhattisgarh’s journey towards providing free electricity to its citizens.

One Roof, All Services

Unified Power HQ in Nava Raipur

CM Sai emphasized the importance of bringing all three state power companies under one roof. This is to ensure seamless coordination, operational efficiency, and better consumer services. The new headquarters is designed to be a modern infrastructure hub that reflects global standards of functionality and aesthetics. A 3D model of the building was unveiled during the ceremony, which was preceded by a traditional puja.

“This building will enhance the efficiency of our officers and employees. It \ will serve as a symbol of Chhattisgarh’s growing power sector,” the Chief Minister said. “Under one roof, consumers will be able to access all services related to electricity — a first for the state.”

A Journey of Growth: From 1400 MW to 30,000 MW

Unified Power HQ in Nava Raipur

The CM reflected on the state’s 25-year journey since its formation in 2000. He stated that Chhattisgarh has made “historic progress” in electricity production. “From just 1400 MW in 2000, our generation capacity has now touched 30,000 MW,” he said.

He highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent inauguration of a 1320 MW power plant as part of this achievement, attributing the progress to “the trust, hard work, and participation of every citizen.

Accelerating Free Electricity Through Solar

The Chief Minister also credited the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana. It is a central scheme aimed at promoting rooftop solar power. He said the scheme is for significantly boosting the state’s move toward free electricity.

Global Inspiration from Japan and South Korea

CM Sai shared insights from his recent official visit to Japan and South Korea. He stated that the experience reinforced his vision of Chhattisgarh evolving into a state with world-class infrastructure and work culture.

He instructed officials to ensure timely and quality construction of the building. The aim of making it a symbol of excellence in the state’s power sector.
