Green Fund Initiative: Transforming Ayodhya, Encourages Public Contributions

After the grand construction of the temple and other significant projects in Ramnagari Ayodhya, the initiative to develop ‘Green Ayodhya’ has begun. This initiative includes the creation of a Green Fund aimed at developing the city through extensive tree planting. Both individuals and institutions can contribute to this fund. The Forest Department has also prepared an action plan to plant over 3.8 million trees to replace those cut down for new construction work in Ayodhya.

Enhancing Visitor Experience

Future visitors to the grand temple on Shri Ram Janmabhoomi will experience less heat and enjoy a more relaxed atmosphere due to increased greenery. The Yogi government has initiated this Green Fund to transform Ayodhya into a world-class city. Contributions from the public will enable everyone to participate in Ayodhya’s new construction and development. The Green Fund scheme welcomes contributions from voluntary organizations (NGOs), other organizations, and individual groups.

Details of Ayodhya’s Green Fund Scheme

Recent construction work in Ram Nagari Ayodhya includes the grand Ram temple and pathways like Ram Path, Janmabhoomi Path, Dharma Path, and Bhakti Path, leading to the Ram temple. The number of visitors and tourists has significantly increased. To beautify Ayodhya, the Ayodhya Development Authority has initiated the Green Fund. This fund will facilitate large-scale plantation in public places. Companies can also contribute under their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.

The Green Fund: A Vision for Ayodhya

The Green Fund has been established to enhance Ayodhya’s green cover and promote sustainable practices. Here are the key aspects of this visionary project:

Afforestation and Reforestation:

    1. The Green Fund will facilitate large-scale tree plantation across public spaces in Ayodhya.
    2. Citizens and organizations can contribute by donating towards tree planting drives.
    3. The goal is to create a harmonious balance between urban development and ecological conservation.

    Water Conservation:

      1. Ayodhya faces water scarcity during peak summer months.
      2. The Green Fund will support water conservation initiatives, ensuring efficient water management.
      3. Rainwater harvesting, groundwater recharge, and efficient irrigation methods will be promoted.

      Landscaping and Beautification:

        1. The proposed plan includes landscaping various areas within Ayodhya.
        2. Parks, gardens, and green spaces will be developed to enhance the city’s aesthetics.
        3. Landscaping will also contribute to improving air quality and providing recreational spaces.

        Public Participation Encouraged

A committee, headed by Ayodhya Commissioner Gaurav Dayal and including the District Magistrate, Municipal Commissioner, VC of Ayodhya Development Authority, DFO, and Mila Udyan, will oversee the Green Fund. This committee will ensure the fund is used for planned plantation efforts. The public can contribute to the Green Fund and participate in Ayodhya’s development. Many city notables and employees of the Ayodhya Development Authority have already contributed. Companies can also participate under CSR.

        Forest Department’s Role

Starting in July, the Forest Department will commence large-scale tree planting in Ayodhya, planning to plant over 3.8 million saplings. These will mostly be shady, oxygen-rich trees. The replanting will compensate for trees cut down to widen Rampath and Parikrama Marg, adhering to regulations, and will include additional tree planting on a larger scale.

By participating in the Green Fund, everyone can contribute to making Ayodhya a greener and more beautiful city.

Let’s plant the seeds of change and watch Ayodhya bloom into a world-class green city.
