Tabreed plans to invest a whopping $200 million in developing cutting-edge district cooling facilities and networks, making it the largest district cooling Public-Private Partnership (PPP) project in Asia. This initiative will offer long-term, sustainable cooling services to industrial units for processes and storage needs, following a cooling-as-a-service model.
The Expected Benefits:
This project is expected to bring significant advantages, including cost-efficiency, unprecedented economies of scale, and highly reliable cooling solutions. It’s projected to save an impressive 6,800 GWh of power and conserve 41,600 mega litres of water, resulting in a reduction of 6.2 million tons of CO2 emissions throughout its lifetime.
Expanding the Vision:
In addition to the HPC project, the Telangana government and Tabreed have joined hands to explore district cooling infrastructure for Cyberabad and other mixed-use development areas. This could potentially reduce peak electricity demand by over 200 MW, leading to a remarkable 18 million tons reduction in CO2 emissions over three decades.
