MBBS books will now be available in Hindi

Union Home Minister Amit Shah will launch the Hindi versions of first-year MBBS textbooks in Bhopal on October 16. Madhya Pradesh will be one step closer to becoming the first state in the country to offer medical education in Hindi as a result of this.

Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, believes that the initiative will change people’s minds, as they will see that they can advance in life even after receiving education in Hindi, as well as feel pride in their mother tongue. Mr. Chouhan has frequently expressed his support for higher education in Hindi in public. Mr. Shah, during his most recent visit to Bhopal in August, stated that India’s obsession with the English language had prevented 95% of the country’s talent from contributing to its progress.

The translated versions, said the State’s Medical Education Minister Vishvas Sarang, of books on medical biochemistry, medical physiology, and anatomy, have been prepared by a committee of 97 doctors over the past eight to nine months.

The project will start from Gandhi Medical College (GMC) in Bhopal before being extended to all 13 government-run medical colleges in the current academic session.
Mr. Sarang stated that more books will be translated in the coming days, despite the fact that a clearer roadmap of the subsequent moves in this direction has yet to emerge. Madhya Pradesh’s Director (Medical Education), Dr. Jiten Shukla, stated that the exercise should not be interpreted as a “Hindi versus English” debate because the state has no plans to phase out English textbooks. Instead, he explained, it was about providing a parallel platform for students who speak Hindi as their first language.
