Strategic leadership and investment management are the two new certifications offered on Coursera by the Indian School of Business (ISB). Professionals who are currently employed can enrol in any course. Enrollment is now open for classes beginning in October of this year.
Certificate course in strategic leadership:
This programme aims to develop critical skills for developing and implementing strategies during disruptive times. Working professionals in middle management roles with at least 10 years of experience are eligible to enrol in the course. According to Coursera, the 12-week programme includes two courses: managing career for success and leading to win in disruptive times and developing strategies to win in the marketplace.
“Learners will develop an integrated perspective and an understanding of how cross-functional stakeholders across marketing, finance, operations and HR impact the overall business strategy and influence long-term value creation. The learning will also be facilitated via case studies like the ‘Boeing 737 max crisis’ teaching strategic execution and leadership,” it added. Furthermore, the course will help learners gain leadership skills like strategic development, strategic execution and implementation, business strategy and leadership.
Certificate course in investment management:
It aims to provide students with a thorough understanding of investment strategies, financial markets, and the economy. This 16-week programme will teach learners about financial statements, common filings of firms, the basics of the investment process, and trading strategies.
The programme prepares students to work as investment managers, portfolio managers, risk analysts, research managers, and financial analysts. According to the ISB, they will learn risk management, behavioural finance, bond market, portfolio manager, and risk analyst, among other things. The programme includes three courses: financial markets and trading fundamentals, trading algorithms, and portfolio and risk management. This programme is recommended for professionals with a basic understanding of finance.
