In the latest episode of his monthly ‘Mann Ki Baat’ programme, Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the “incredible expansion” of India’s online transaction footprints. He also encouraged his audience to try a “cashless day out” by only accepting digital payments.

The National Payments Corporation of India developed the Unified Payments Interface, an instant real-time payment system that facilitates inter-bank peer-to-peer and person-to-merchant transactions.

Mann Ki Baat’ is a monthly radio show in which he discusses new topics in each episode. It is broadcast at 11 a.m. on the last Sunday of each month on the state-run All India Radio and Doordarshan television channel. Mann Ki Baat is also streamed live on all of PM Modi’s and the PMO’s social media platforms.
