On November 8, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will reveal the G20 Presidency’s logo, theme, and website. India will have 200 meetings across the nation during its one-year G20 presidency, which it will hold from December 1, 2022, to November 30, 2023.
The G20 presidency, according to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), presents an exceptional opportunity for India to contribute to the global agenda on urgent problems of international significance.
According to the statement, the G20 presidency of India’s logo, theme, and website would represent the nation’s “message and overriding priorities” to the rest of the globe.
G20 or Group of 20
An intergovernmental meeting of the world’s leading developed and emerging economies is known as the G20 or Group of 20. Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States, and the European Union (EU) are all included.
The logo, theme, and website for India’s G20 presidency will be unveiled by the prime minister via video conference on November 8 at 4:30 p.m., according to the MEA.
On November 15 and 16, the G20 meeting will be held in Bali, and Modi is expected to be one of the top world leaders attending.
The MEA stated that India’s foreign policy “has been evolving to adopt leadership positions on the global stage, guided by the vision of the prime minister.”
Bring new opportunities to India
“In a significant step in this direction, India will assume the G20 presidency from December 1. The G20 presidency offers a unique opportunity to India to contribute to the global agenda on pressing issues of international importance,” it added.
The G20, which represents more than 75% of global trade, almost two-thirds of the world’s population, and approximately 85% of the world’s GDP, is the foremost forum for international economic cooperation.
