

President Droupadi Murmu launched a start-up platform for female entrepreneurs created by Gujarat University on October 4. The president is in Gujarat for a two-day visit, her first as President.
On the second day of her two-day visit, the president launched ‘Her Start,’ a varsity initiative for female entrepreneurs.
The President stated that there are over 450 start-ups on the Gujarat University campus. This university also actively supports over 125 women-led start-ups. Around 15,000 women entrepreneurs are also involved in this initiative, either online or offline. She expressed her delight at launching a start-up platform dedicated to female entrepreneurs at such a startup-friendly university. She expressed confidence that this platform will not only boost women entrepreneurs’ innovation and start-up efforts, but will also prove to be an effective platform for connecting women entrepreneurs with various government and private enterprises.
She also laid the groundwork for several projects related to education and tribal development at a function held at Gujarat University.
Project for women in Gujarat
The President also expressed her pleasure at the inauguration of projects related to education, particularly girls’ and tribal education, in Gujarat, such as Sainik School, Girls Literacy Residential School, and Eklavya Model Residential School. Because school education will lay the groundwork for further strengthening India’s position in science, research, and innovation.
At a function in Gandhinagar on Monday, she inaugurated or laid foundation stones for projects worth Rs 1,330 crore. She also paid floral respects to Mahatma Gandhi at Sabarmati Ashram.

Gujarat has also made significant progress in higher education, according to the President.
The number of colleges in the state increased from 775 in 2001-02 to more than 3,100 in 2020-21.
The ‘Garima Cell,’ India’s first education quality and monitoring cell, has been established in this state to evaluate higher education.
She stated that the effective implementation of the ‘Van Bandhu-Kalyan Yojana’ has resulted in a significant increase in the tribal society’s literacy rate.
This programme has also reduced the number of tribal students who drop out of school. This university has produced Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the father of India’s space programme, Dr. Vikram Sarabhai, former chairman of ISRO, Dr. K. Kasturirangan, and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
