Seven hydropower projects of 10 thousand MW (Megawatt) each will be set up in Chhattisgarh. Farmers will get loan up to Rs 3 lakh without interest. These decisions were taken in the cabinet. All power projects will be pump storage based. For this, the Chhattisgarh State Hydro Electric Project Establishment Policy 2022 has been approved. The project is being studied by the Generation Company in Korba, Jashpur, Surguja, Gariaband, Dhamtari and Balrampur districts.
Due to the availability of coal, a large number of coal based power generation projects are being set up in the state. For any power system to operate, there should be an equal ratio of thermal power, hydro power and generation capacity. But the share of hydro power generation in the state’s power system is not up to the ideal situation. Therefore, this provision has been made to promote it. At present the notification issued for setting up of 25 MW capacity small hydro power project has expired in February 2022.
No transfer outside the division in the scheduled area
Transfer, deputation, merger, annexation, district and divisional level posts of class III and IV persons in Korba and Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi of Bilaspur division, including the districts of Bastar and Surguja divisions notified by the state government will not be done outside the division.
810 MW solar power plants to be installed
Under Component-C of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha and Utthan Maha Abhiyan (PM Kusum) scheme, 810 MW (DC) / 675 MW (AC) capacity solar power plants will be installed to provide solar power to agricultural feeders. At the time of availability of solar energy, agricultural pumps will be run from solar energy and if solar energy is not available, they will be able to use electricity.
If farmers give land then they will get rent
Electricity can also be generated by installing a solar plant under the transmission line of electricity. If such a plant is set up on government land, then land will be made available at the rate of Rs 1. If the land belongs to the farmer and he agrees, then the plant can be set up in his field. There will be a 25-year agreement for this. The farmer will also get a rent of Rs 30,000 per acre annually. It will continue to grow at 6% per annum.
New building for agriculture department
Krishi Bhawan will be built like other departments to implement the activities of allied departments like horticulture, pisciculture, animal husbandry etc. from one place in the interest of farmers. For its construction, 3.14 acres of land has been identified in Sector 19 of Nava Raipur Atal Nagar. For this it was decided to allot land in Re 1 token.
Horticulture, animal husbandry and fisheries will get a boost
Interest subvention on cooperative loans of farmers has been amended. According to which farmers will get loans up to Rs 3 lakh without interest for horticulture works, fisheries and livestock. Till now, one percent interest was charged on loans up to one lakh and three percent on loans up to three lakhs.
