Annpurna Devi, Union Minister of State for Education, presented the National Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Awards 2022 on March 1, 2022. The award was given to 49 teachers from all throughout India.

The Award’s Importance

Recognition of school teachers for their use of ICT in education in the form of a national award encourages teachers to utilize ICT extensively and significantly in their classrooms by combining technology and content-pedagogy.

These ICT Awardees were also given the task of serving as ICT ambassadors, coaching other instructors and encouraging pupils to develop entrepreneurial skills in order to generate a competent workforce.

ICT intervention under Samagra Shiksha

ICT intervention under Samagra Shiksha also includes a component to provide IT infrastructure across schools and Teacher Education Institutes (TEIs) in order to facilitate innovative use of ICT in school and teacher education, with the goal of improving quality in all spheres of school and teacher education.

Other projects to enhance outreach of technology

ICT Curriculum for Teachers & Students, ePathshala, DIKSHA, PMeVIDYA (One Class One Channel), School MOOCs on SWAYAM (Study Webs of Active Learning for Young Aspiring Minds), and NISHTHA
