Cricket is India's most popular sport. The game has experienced it all, right from the authentic taste of the traditional Test and ODI formats to the raw flavours of T20 cricket.
The cricket community has witnessed significant advancements in the game, in terms of quality and entertainment, the players bring to the table. At the same time, we've seen players approach the game with more caution, while focusing on short boundaries and exploiting them.

As a result, these factors benefit the teams greatly. Meanwhile, in a major development, the Surat District Cricket Association (SDCA) is moving forward with plans to increase the Lalabhai Contractor Stadium's seating capacity from 7000 to 30,000.

New Cricket Stadium in Surat Taking Shape

Lalabhai Contractor Stadium is a cricket stadium in Surat owned by the Surat Development Corporation. The stadium is small, but the association intends to expand it to accommodate national and international level cricket games and tournaments.

The design for Surat's new cricket stadium is complete, according to a reliable source. Although there has been no official confirmation or update on the name of the stadium, we can deduce that it could be the existing small Lalabhai Contractor Stadium in Surat, which is currently under construction.

The stadium will be built with a slew of amenities, including a modern Club House with residential accommodations, restaurants, and a banquet hall, according to the project's agenda. The stadium could also include a conference hall and a mini-theater, as well as locker rooms for the players.
