A successful businessman cleared NEET at age of 52 for a cause

A 52-year-old Ahmedabad businessman has surprised everyone by passing the toughest medical entrance exam, the National Eligibility Cumulative Entrance Test (NEET). However, Pradeep Kumar Singh, a resident of Bodakdev, prepared diligently and passed the test.

Pradeep received 607 out of 720 points, putting him one step closer to realising his dream of assisting poor students who want to study medicine. He wanted to provide free coaching to low-income students.

According to a report, the businessman also says he does not want to attend medical school and instead wants to open a free NEET coaching centre for poor students.

Pradeep completed his Class 12 science exam with 71 per cent marks in 1987 in Delhi. Later, he completed BA (Economics) from Delhi University followed by Masters of Business Economics from Delhi School of Economics.

In his initial career, the businessman worked for business journals. He later shifted his trade to business to business platform.

Pradeep’s son Snehansh, who is in his third year of MBBS at NHL Medical College in Ellisbridge, is fully supportive of his cause. Pradeep got the idea to appear for NEET while helping his son, Bijin Snehansh who eventually in 2019 cleared NEET and secured 595 marks.

“When my son began preparing for NEET, I took an interest in it to provide him support. I realized that coaching institutes charged hefty fees, and this put them out of the reach of poor aspirants,” said Singh.

Candidates who came out with flying colours

Over 18 lakh candidates appeared in the NEET exam conducted in 2022 at 3,570 centres spread across 497 cities in the country and 14 cities out of India.
