Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik launched the “Startup Odisha Yatra 2.0” on August 26, the flagship initiative of Startup Odisha.
It seeks grassroots innovators, female entrepreneurs, and promotes entrepreneurship among youth. Over the course of 60 days, the Yatra will visit over 100 educational institutions in 30 districts.
The Chief Minister stated at the event’s launch that it will provide entrepreneurial exposure to young minds and instil a culture of idea generation in the youth.
State has goal of 5000 startups by 2025
“The state has a goal of 5000 startups by 2025, and Startup Odisha Yatra 2.0 will be critical in bringing innovative ideas to the forefront,” said CM Patnaik.
The state currently has over 1300 recognised startups, which generate 10,000 jobs in the state. Women entrepreneurs lead 40% of startup companies.
Bootcamps will be held at various institutions
Throughout the Yatra, Bootcamps will be held at various institutions across the state to encourage idea generation and the development of the entrepreneurial spirit.
With Odisha being the hub of talented and innovative minds, the ideas pitched at Startup Odisha Yatra 2.0 van campaigns and bootcamps will be a catalyst in identifying ideas and innovators across the state.
