Gopal Ratna Award: Great opportunity for cattle owners to win reward of Rs 5 lakh, Check the conditions

Animal husbandry is proving to be the biggest source of income in the rural areas of the country. The villagers are encouraged by the government to invest more and more in the field of animal husbandry. Under this, the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying under the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying has sought applications for the National Gopal Ratna Awards for the year 2022.

The last date for submission of application is 15.09.2022. These awards will be given on the occasion of National Milk Day (November 26, 2022). The website https://awards.gov.in may be visited for more details regarding eligibility etc. and for submission of online application.

Purpose of Animal Husbandry

Animal Husbandry and Dairying Department is making every effort with the aim of effective development of animal husbandry and dairy sector to provide sustainable livelihood to the farmers. The "Rashtriya Gokul Mission (RGM)" was launched for the first time in the country in December 2014. Every year, the dairy farmers, best artificial insemination technicians and milk producer companies are given Gopal Ratna awards.

Required qualification for this award

• Only those farmers are eligible for this award, who follow any one of the 50 indigenous breeds of cow and 18 indigenous breeds of buffalo.
• Artificial Insemination Technician who has taken at least 90 days of training for this job.
• Milk producer company that produces 100 liters of milk per day, and about 50 farmers should be associated with them.

The award is given in three groups

Under the Rashtriya Gokul Kisan Mission scheme, every year prizes are given for first, second and third and third place in all three groups.
1. An amount of 5 lakhs as first prize

2. Amount of three lakhs for the second place holder

3. An amount of two lakhs is provided to third place holders

The Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying gives a certificate of merit in each category, a memento and a certain amount to the awardees.
