Underground metro project in Patna inaugurated by Bihar CM

Nitish Kumar, the chief minister of Bihar, laid the cornerstone for the Patna Metro Rail projects on August 18.

At the foundation-laying event in Patna, Bihar, CM Nitish Kumar was joined by Tejaswi Yadav, the recently appointed Deputy Chief Minister and son of Lalu Yadav.

The Patna Metro Rail’s subterranean construction project received its foundational stone from Nitish Kumar.

Lalu Yadav praised Nitish Kumar on his decision to leave the NDA and unify with the Mahagathbandhan to create the state’s new government earlier, after Kumar broke the alliance with the BJP.

In order to establish a coalition with the RJD, Nitish Kumar breached his pact with the BJP. Nitish Kumar is dissatisfied with the BJP on a number of issues after voting in favour of key measures at the JDU Legislature Party meeting.

A total of 31 ministers from different parties that are a part of the Mahagathbandhan or the Grand Alliance in the state were appointed to the Bihar cabinet.

About Patna

Bihar’s capital, Patna, is located on the banks of the Ganga. It served as the location of the legendary Mauryan Empire’s ancient capital, Pataliputra. The city is littered with famous landmarks and historical locations dating from the Mughal through the British eras.

The city will soon get a metro line but railways arrived in Patna in the 1860s during British rule. Before the railway line, rivers and roads were the prime means of transportation of the residents.
