About Patna
Bihar’s capital, Patna, is located on the banks of the Ganga. It served as the location of the legendary Mauryan Empire’s ancient capital, Pataliputra. The city is littered with famous landmarks and historical locations dating from the Mughal through the British eras.
The city will soon get a metro line but railways arrived in Patna in the 1860s during British rule. Before the railway line, rivers and roads were the prime means of transportation of the residents.
