Eldhose Paul and Abdulla Aboubacker Narangolintevid, two Indian athletes, may not have had the most well-known names prior to the Commonwealth Games 2022, but they have now permanently inscribed their names in history. Both athletes ended with medals in the men's triple jump competition, making them the first Indians to do so at the Commonwealth Games.

Made history by winning the first Indian gold and silver

Eldhose Paul made history by winning the first Indian gold medal at the competition, and Aboubacker made history by winning the first Indian silver medal. The only triple jumpers at the competition to clear 17 metres were the two Indians. Aboubacker's best leap was 17.02 metres, compared to Paul's 17.03 metres.

ldhose Paul got off to a rough start, recording his first jump at 14.62 metres, much below the desired height. On the other hand, he leaped 17.03 metres on his third attempt, becoming the first guy in this year's competition to do so. In fact, this jump moved him up to the gold medal sport from fourth place, and he hasn't left that rank since.

On the other hand, Abdulla Aboubacker Narangolintevid frequently reached the 16-meter mark but was unable to secure his place in one of the medal spots until his fifth attempt, when he finally reached a distance of 17.02 m.

In reality, Praveen Chitravel, another Indian triple jumper, finished in fourth place, narrowly missing a podium result.

At the 2022 Commonwealth Games, India has already won an incredible eight medals in athletics, including one gold, four silver, and three bronze.
