Vihaan Agrawal, who has been climbing mountains on his father's back since he was 15 months old, has joined the ranks of children who have successfully accomplished the difficult and laborious summit to Everest base camp.

Vihaan, who turned ten on March 9, completed the Everest base camp climb by the end of the month." Being surrounded by such pristine natural beauty and, of course, Mount Everest, was interesting."Seeing other mountains like Changtse, Khumbutse, Nuptse, and Lhotse was incredible," said the young mountaineer, who was accompanied on the trek by his parents.

Inspired by his parents

Vihaan, who was inspired by his parents, who were also ardent trekkers, trained diligently for the assignment and finished it with ease. To prepare, he and his mother would get up at 5 a.m. every morning and run for 10 kilometres.

"If you can run ten kilometres four times a week, you can climb ten kilometres in a day."We began with 2 kilometres and progressed to 10 kilometres. Vihaan used to carry his bag with weight and walk up and down all of our building's floors several times a day. His mother, Shrada Dholia, added, "We also did regular strength training such as lunges, squats, and pushups.""Most people take medication, and some even rent a helicopter to take them down instead of hiking because it's too difficult."But Vihaan didn't require it."

On how he kept himself motivated, Vihaan said, “It is about taking one step at a time and not worrying about the rest.”
