Andhra Pradesh govt. to provide tractors at low-cost rates to farmers

According to chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, rolled out a scheme on June 7 to make tractors and combine harvesters available to groups of farmers at subsidised rates at custom hiring centres set up across the state.

Overview

YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the chief minister of Telangana, launched the ‘YSR Yantra Seva’ scheme in Chuttugunta village in the Guntur district. At the event, he flagged down as many as 3,800 tractors and 320 combine harvesters.

The chief minister also credited Rs 175 crore into the accounts of 5,260 farmers through direct benefit transfer under the Rythu Bharosa scheme as part of the programme.

According to Jagan, his government is committed to the welfare of farmers, and that 10,750 Rythu Bharosa Kendras (RBKs or farmers’ assistance centres) have been established across the state to assist farmers in a variety of ways, including seed sales and the provision of farm equipment such as tractors and harvesters.

Later, the chief minister unveiled the pylon at the Jindal Waste to Energy Plant in Kondaveedu, Palnadu district, which he had inaugurated.

Other officials in attendance included state home minister Taneti Vanitha, energy minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy, irrigation minister Ambati Rambabu, and others.
