On 9th June in New Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address a crowd at the inaugural event for the Biotech Start-up Expo 2022, which will mark the 10th anniversary of the Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC).
Biotech Startup Innovations: Towards Aatmanirbhar Bharat
The two-day event, titled ‘Biotech Startup Innovations: Towards Aatmanirbhar Bharat,’ is being organised by the Biotechnology Department and BIRAC, according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office.
The conference will serve as a link between entrepreneurs, investors, industry leaders, scientists, researchers, bio-incubators, manufacturers, regulators, government officials, and other key players in the field.

The expo will feature about 300 stalls showcasing biotechnology applications in areas such as healthcare, genomics, biopharma, agriculture, industrial biotechnology, waste-to-value, and clean energy, among others.
A panel discussion on the growth of the bio-economy will also be held on the first day of the expo. After that, there will be a meeting with stakeholders for consultation. Later on, the expo will be open to the public for open house interactions and networking sessions. On the second day, there will be a Start-up Pitching session.
