“To assist passengers, Indian Railways has decided to increase the limit of booking maximum 6 tickets per month by a user ID that is not Aadhaar linked to 12 tickets and the limit of booking maximum 12 tickets per month by a user ID that is Aadhaar linked and that one of the passengers in the ticket to be booked is verifiable through Aadhaar,” the ministry said in a statement.
According to officials, this will benefit frequent travellers as well as those who use the same account to book train tickets for family members.
How to link Aadhar card with IRCTC?
The linking of Aadhar Card details with IRCTC Account allows travellers to easily book more e-tickets each month, with users able to book up to 12 e-tickets per month. To book rail tickets, users must be verified using their Aadhar number, as well as at least one passenger’s Aadhar number. The procedure for linking aadhar card details with IRCTC is simple and straightforward, and it can be completed successfully by following a few simple steps online.
