Visually Impaired Samyak Jain cracked UPSC 2021 with AIR-7 In 2nd Attempt



Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) released the its Final Result 2021 on May 30, 2022 where Samyak Jain holds the 7th rank .

Samyak basically belongs to Delhi and did his schooling in National Capital itself. Both of his parents work for Air India. He lives with his mother as his father who is posted in Paris.

Samyak cleared his upsc exam in second attempt, in the first attempt, he could not make it to main exam. Talking about the first attempt he said that it was more of water tasting, he wanted to know how it works out. He was not prepared for it.

Samyak is visually impaired

Samyak belongs to PWD category as he is visually impaired. He needed a writer to write his exams, which was his mother. For preparation, he used to read books in digital format. He said that he is blessed to have such supportive parents and friends.

Samyak Jain’s Education Background

Samyak earned a bachelor’s degree in English with honours. Following that, he enrolled at the Indian Institute of Mass Communication to pursue a PG Diploma in English Journalism. Samyak earned his master’s degree in international relations from Jawaharlal Nehru University as a result of his passion in the subject. In UPSC, he studied political science and international relations as electives.

Preparation strategy

Samyak began his preparations during lockdown (March 2020), when he had a lot of free time due to his house isolation. Consistency, he says, is the key to passing the exam. He used to spend at least seven hours a day studying.

Tips for UPSC aspirants

• Maintain an optimistic attitude and believe in your ability to succeed.
• Maintain consistency, as previously said.
• Always evaluate yourself and take mock tests.
• People are always in the mindset that if they don’t do it now, they will do it later. This, is the issue or the thing that goes wrong.
• one should believe that this is their one chance to succeed or fail.
