During the three-day Global Ayush Investment and Innovation Summit (GAIIS 2022) organized by the Ministry of Ayush, a student’s Ayurvedic Startup, Green Forest Wellness, received an investment offer worth Rs 2.50 crore from a private firm.

Startups and students participated enthusiastically in the summit, showcasing their products and diverse efforts. Many established companies, as well as the winning startup, set up stalls at GAIIS 2022’s show. Mardia, a Jamnagar, Gujarat resident, is a final-year student at Gujarat’s Institute of Teaching and Research in Ayurveda (ITRA).

In October 2021, he founded Green Forest Wellness, an Ayurveda-based cosmetics company, with only Rs 5 lakhs. Mardia, however, was unable to expand its reach and increase sales due to a lack of cash. He plans to utilize the money to expand his business and improve his product promotion.

PM Modi motivates the startup

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said at the Global Ayush Investment and Innovation Summit 2022 in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, that he hoped to see a unicorn emerge from the Ayush industry in the future years, just as he had from other sectors. The success of Neelkanth Mardia will encourage more Ayush startups to develop.

Neelkanth Mardia was a fast learner and industrious student from the very beginning,” remarked Dr. Anup Thakar, Director of ITRA. He enjoyed developing novel concoctions based on Ayurvedic principles. He has been quite excited about his desire of being an entrepreneur. I’m happy a private company has offered to fund his startup with Rs 2.50 crore. I wish him the best of luck in the future.”
