Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari on 26 April, said that Elon Musk is welcome to manufacture e-vehicles in India.
Gadkari said welcome to India but not import from China
Tesla is invited in India to start manufacturing business here. But Nitin Gadkari , the Union Minister clearly stated that if Tesla wants to manufacture in China and sell the product in India then it cannot be a good proposition for India.

There is a increased interest in e-vehicles among the people of India from last few years, so Nitin Gadkari further said “my suggestions to elon musk is, in India, he will get a good market and Indian market is very huge. It is a win win situation for both” . He also stated that India has all the quality vendors and automobile spare parts. He will get good profits . If Tesla starts manufacturing in India then there will be all types of technology available here and because of that he can reduce the cost .
